How many times do your parents ask you to take out the trash? Probably more than we care to remember. Well, one day you will become a mom or dad and ask your kids to do the same. You know in one year, the United States produces more than 160 million tons of garbage. Unless Americans take more time to recycle, who knows what the earth will look like in the future. It will only take a second of your time so please start recycling. I took a poll on if people feel recycling is time consuming and a hassle and 42% said yes, 55% said no and 3% don't care. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that Americans create 245 million tons of waste a year, about 20% of that is food. Schools should start enforcing recycling. Schools are over the world use huge amounts of paper every day. Most high schools or regular schools only have one building, but some schools has at least twelve different buildings, and the paper is delivered constantly in huge amounts.
When we recycle we save trees, we increase oxygen levels, save natural habitats, and allow forests to grow once more. Each time a tree is cut, our oxygen level is reduced. Every living thing on the Earth needs oxygen to survive, especially humans. The worst part of is all is, we are the ones cutting them down, so when the air becomes so thin and it is hard to breathe, we can only blame ourselves. Each year two percent of animal habitats are lost due to deforestation. Recycling can also cause good habits. It can also make you feel good about yourself. The need to reuse and recycle raw materials has never been as urgent as it is today. The human race has reached a worldwide population of 7 billion, and America is responsible for consuming a disproportionate share of the planet's resources. In many parts of the world, recycling is done by necessity. In others, artists, governments, and businesses have found creative and useful ways to reuse materials -- a plastic bottle may find itself reborn as artwork, a warm blanket, or fuel oil. Collected here are photographs of various recycling efforts around the world, ranging from small and whimsical to industrial in scale.
I know some people who love to recycle so much; they will go to dirty parks, parking lots, ponds and so much more just so they feel good about themselves. In fact, when I used to go for a walk or a jog, I would bring two plastic bags with me, one for trash and one for recyclables. My friends inspired me to do this. Think about something that really inspires you. Now, take that inspiration from your passion and place it toward recycling. The world could be so much cleaner and healthier if every person around the world would pitch in and recycle. Just like there is a good side to everything there is also a bad side to things. Finally whether you are healthy or not, if we all come together and form as one, we can make a difference.
